The announcement comes after three people were killed and three others wounded by Russian shelling earlier in the week, bringing the total number of civilians killed in the oblast this year to 50.
"These exceed last year's numbers," he said, adding that Russian forces are carrying out attacks with artillery, mortars, and kamikaze drones.
"Yesterday there was a meeting of the Regional Defense Council. The military command proposed evacuating eight more settlements within the 10-kilometer zone," and orders have already been issued to the affected communities.
On May 29, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian forces continued their presence, conducting sabotage and reconnaissance activities along the borders of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts.
