Ukrainians have trust in the military, but not politicians in a new survey

94% of Ukrainians trust the armed forces according to a sociological survey conducted through the middle of December by the Kyiv think tank Democratic Initiatives Foundation. The majority of Ukrainian citizens do not trust political parties, the state apparatus, courts, or the judicial system in general.

According to the study conducted in partnership with the sociological service of the Razumkov Center, Ukrainians trust the various military and defense structures:

According to the survey data, 68% of respondents trust the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyyi. Also, Ukrainians trust public and volunteer organizations – 63% and 86%, respectively, and the church – 63%.

At the same time, the majority of surveyed Ukrainians reported distrusted of most aspects of the civilian state bodies at the following levels:

The survey was conducted from December 8 to 15, 2023 by the face-to-face method in the territories controlled by Kyiv and where hostilities are not taking place. 2019 respondents over the age of 18 were interviewed. The theoretical sampling error does not exceed 2.3%.
