The SBU has arrested a 25-year-old from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, who was recruited by Russian intelligence and attempted to blow up a police unit in Pavlohrad, the Prosecutor General’s Office said on March 19.

In late December 2024, the suspect planted explosives in an abandoned building and set up a remote-access camera to record the crime.

Following instructions from his “curator,” the man planned to detonate the explosives when police arrived.

After the attack, the occupiers promised the suspect a "reward," which he expected to receive in his crypto wallet.

Law enforcement prevented the attack and arrested the suspect, seizing detonating devices, components for an explosive device, a mobile phone, and SIM cards during searches.

The suspect has been placed in detention without the right to bail and faces up to 10 years in prison, along with confiscation of property.
