Swedish authorities may have received a threat of an attack on the energy infrastructure of all Nordic countries, broadcaster TV4 reported on Feb. 26, citing its own sources.

Police were instructed to increase monitoring of critical energy infrastructure.

The Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA) said it had urged the energy sector to heighten vigilance. The agency noted that Poland’s energy sector was targeted in attacks in late December 2025.

At the same time, FRA stressed there is no specific threat, describing the alert as “precautionary measures and a way to be more attentive.”

According to TV4, the alleged threats were received from a source “linked to a foreign state.”

On Jan. 13, Poland’s digital affairs minister, Krzysztof Gawkowski, said the country came “very close” to a power outage in December 2025 due to a Russian attack. Gawkowski said numerous attacks targeted Poland’s energy sector in late 2025, and the situation was difficult to control, particularly because of unfavorable weather conditions.
