Under pressure from ongoing protests calling for Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi to be dismissed, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a “decisive” meeting on the matter, Zelenskyy’s communications adviser Dmytro Lytvyn said on July 21.

Lytvyn posted the remark in response to a message from Dmytro Kozyatynskyi, a veteran and organizer of the rallies.

“Just had one nearly decisive meeting, and now another one is underway, essentially decisive, right after the decisions there will be communication,” said Lytvyn.

Additionally, opposition MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote in a Telegram post that, according to his sources, “good news” is expected on July 22, attaching a photo of Zelenskyy with Maj. Gen. Mykhailo Drapatyi. The general was previously reported to be the frontrunner to succeed Syrskyi.
