"A total of ten temperature records have been set since the beginning of the month," the report says.
According to the data, two temperature records were set in Kyiv on July 12. The minimum air temperature in the capital did not drop below 22.8°C. The previous record value for 2021 was exceeded by 0.8°C.
The average daily air temperature was the highest on record and amounted to 28.7°C, which surpassed the previous record high of 1959 by 1.4°C and the climatic norm by 7.5°C.
Two temperature records were also set in the capital on July 13. The maximum air temperature reached 35.4°C, which is 1.3°C higher than the previous record high in 1936.
The average daily air temperature was the highest for that day and amounted to 29.0°C, which exceeded the previous record in 1951 by 0.7°C and the climatic norm by 8.3°C.
Meteorologists also recorded three temperature records on July 14. The minimum air temperature in the capital on that day did not fall below 22.7°C. The previous record set in 1951 was surpassed by 1.6°C.
The maximum air temperature reached 35.9°C, which is 2.7°C higher than the previous record high in 1951.
The average daily air temperature was the highest for this date and amounted to 29.2°C, which exceeded the previous record high of 1951 by 1.8°C and the climatic norm by 8.2°C.
Weather forecaster Natalia Didenko said earlier that July 15, could be a record day in the current heat wave in Kyiv as temperatures of up to +40 degrees are expected in the capital.
