According to Belgian air traffic control, flights were suspended for more than half an hour following the drone sighting at around 9:20 p.m. Air operations resumed around 10:00 p.m.
“One flight was diverted to Amsterdam Airport due to the disruption. All other flights scheduled for this evening will operate as planned,” Brussels Airport said in a statement.
On Nov. 3, Chief of the Belgian General Staff Frederik Vansina announced that the armed forces had been instructed to engage any unidentified drones appearing over the country’s military bases.
Since September 2025, Russia has repeatedly violated the airspace of NATO member states, with unidentified drones spotted over Poland, Romania, Estonia, Denmark, Spain, Latvia, France, Germany, and others.
