A total of 21 people were injured in the overnight and morning Russian mass attack on the city. Emergency rescue operations at the strike site are continuing, the regional authorities said.
The National Police said two law enforcement officers were among the injured in Dnipro.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said Russia carried out one of the most massive attacks on Dnipro since the start of the war.
Overnight, Russia attacked critical infrastructure in Ukraine with 666 aerial targets — 47 missiles and 619 drones. Air defenses neutralized 580 drones and 30 missiles, but none of the 12 Iskander ballistic missiles were intercepted.
Dnipro was the main target of the strike. Hits were reported on a four-story building and an enterprise. Among the injured was a 9-year-old boy. On Saturday morning, Russia launched a follow-up strike on the city, causing a fire at a gas station.
In Kharkiv, there were also hits on apartment blocks and private houses, injuring a man and a 1.5-year-old child.
The aftermath of the strikes was also reported in Bila Tserkva in Kyiv Oblast, as well as in the Cherkasy and Odesa oblasts.
