France is currently training just three Ukrainian pilots to
fly Mirage
2000 aircraft, French Aid to Ukraine reported on
Feb. 26, citing a press conference by France’s Ministry of the Armed Forces.
The ministry said the training is being conducted by the French Air Force.
On Feb. 9, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, said France had notified Ukraine of preparations to transfer additional Mirage 2000 aircraft and that the countries had signed a letter of intent on joint arms production.
On March 26, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr
Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron agreed to increase the number of
Mirage 2000 combat aircraft provided to Ukraine.
