There was no conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Jan. 31, according to the TASS propaganda agency report.
This follows Trump's earlier statement on Jan. 30 that the United States had contacted Russia about repatriating the remains of the victims of the Washington plane crash. Asked by journalists if he had personally spoken to Putin, Trump said "no" and later added "not about that," hinting that a conversation might have taken place.
On Jan. 27, Peskov said that Russia had received no signals from the U.S. regarding a conversation between Trump and Putin and claimed that Moscow’s willingness to engage with Washington “remains”.
On Jan. 22, Trump took to his Truth Social account, urging Putin to “make a deal,” arguing that Russia’s economy “is collapsing” and will “only get worse.”
