Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the White House on Oct. 17, President Donald Trump confirmed to reporters aboard Air Force One on Oct. 13.
When asked if he would host Zelenskyy that day, Trump replied, "I think so. Yes,” before thanking the press and ending the conversation.
This follows an earlier announcement by Zelenskyy that he would visit Washington on Oct. 17 at Trump’s invitation. The meeting's agenda is expected to focus on U.S. military assistance, energy security, and continued American support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing aggression.
The two leaders spoke twice on the phone last week.
On Oct. 12, Trump said he was considering telling Russian dictator Vladimir Putin that if the war in Ukraine doesn’t end, he will supply Kyiv with long-range Tomahawk missiles.
