Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is an “obstacle” to ending
the Russo–Ukrainian war, U.S. President Donald Trump said
in an interview with Politico on March 5.
“Zelenskyy, he has to get on the ball, and he has to get a deal done,” Trump said before claiming that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is prepared to end the war.
“I think Putin is ready to make a deal,” he said.
The U.S. leader then went on to once again blaming Kyiv for lack of progress in negotiating a peace agreement, suggesting that Zelenskyy is too resistant to Moscow’s territorial demands.
“It’s unthinkable that he [Zelenskyy] is the obstacle,” Trump said.
“You don’t have the cards. Now he’s got even less cards.”
