A trilateral summit between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin may take place in Turkey, Bloomberg reported, citing a source familiar with the details of the Aug, 13 virtual meeting between U.S. and European leaders.
“Turkey was mentioned as one of the possible venues for a trilateral summit between Trump, Putin, and Zelensky, if the meeting does indeed take place,” the source said.
The virtual meeting, arranged by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, aimed to coordinate the allies' positions ahead of the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska on Aug. 15.
This follows the Aug. 13 CBS News report that the United States is working to finalize a location for a meeting that could bring together U.S., Ukrainian, and Russian leaders as early as next week.
