Russian strike on Odesa kills two, damages dozens of buildings

Two people were injured and are in hospital.
Updated at 9:51 a.m. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said Russia’s overnight strike targeted residential, civilian, industrial, energy and transport infrastructure. In the private sector, a house caught fire after a UAV hit, and rescuers found the bodies of two people while extinguishing the blaze.
According to the military administration, dozens of private and apartment buildings, a dormitory and a kindergarten building were heavily damaged. Windows were shattered, and roofs and facades were damaged. Catering establishments were also hit.
Infrastructure facilities were also struck in the attack.
Regional Gov. Serhii Lysak said utility services are working at the sites of the strikes and a mobile operational headquarters has been deployed.
Explosions were heard in Odesa overnight. Ukraine’s Air Force reported groups of UAVs approaching from the Black Sea. Lysak earlier reported fires in residential buildings and a dormitory.
