The announcement will be made at the G7 summit, where Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to call on G7 leaders to actively support Ukraine to ensure a just and lasting peace.
The support package includes £210 million ($281 million) in funding to enable British company Urenco to supply enriched uranium to Ukrainian state nuclear energy operator Energoatom.
The UK government is also set to announce a major new sanctions package on June 16 targeting Russia’s war effort across multiple fronts.
The sanctions will directly target Russia’s “shadow fleet” and finance networks used to circumvent western sanctions and support military procurement.
The UK will likely become the first country to sanction several Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vessels moving sanctioned Russian LNG.
This package is expected to bring UK sanctioned “shadow fleet” and Russian LNG vessels to more than 600.
The new measures are also expected to expose and target a Russian state linked network, involved in covertly procuring western technology for Russia’s military, as well as closing in on several third country suppliers helping Russia to illegally move money around the world.
The 52nd G7 summit is taking place on June 15-16, 2026, in the French town of Evian-les-Bains. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on June 4 that he will take part in the summit.
