U.S. citizen killed in Russian air strike on Kyiv — State Department

The U.S. State Department confirmed a U.S. citizen was
killed in Russia’s overnight missile attack on Kyiv on June 17, according to
Reuters.
During a briefing later the same day, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce confirmed earlier reports from Ukrainian media.
“We are aware of last night's [Russian] attack on Kyiv, which resulted in numerous casualties, including the tragic death of a U.S. citizen,” said Bruce.
“We condemn those strikes and extend our deepest condolences to the victims and to the families of all those affected.”
Earlier, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a 62-year-old U.S. national was killed in the June 17 air strike.
