U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration resumed shipments of some weapons to Ukraine after a week-long pause directed by Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, AP reported on July 7, citing two U.S. officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The resumed shipments include 155mm munitions and GMLRS precision-guided rockets. It is unclear exactly when the weapons started moving.

On July 1, White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly confirmed the U.S. decision to suspend some military supplies to Ukraine following a Pentagon review and in coordination with other allies. According to Politico, the halted items include certain air defense missiles and other precision-guided munitions. The decision reportedly stems from concerns about depleting U.S. stockpiles.

During a briefing with reporters last week, Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell said he could not “go into detail about what weapons were paused and when and what we’re providing and when. Ultimately, the president and the secretary will make those decisions about what happens with those weapon systems.”

On July 8, Trump confirmed that Washington would provide Ukraine with additional defensive aid, including weapons necessary to defend against Russian aggression.
