During the 92nd General Session of the World Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health, Ukraine’s delegation, headed by Serhiy Tkachuk, held about 20 meetings with international partners to open new markets for Ukrainian animal and plant-based food products.
The focus is on opening up new opportunities for Ukrainian producers, namely new markets for food products of animal and plant origin.
"Following meetings with American colleagues, we agreed to cooperate with APHIS/FSIS and USDA on access for Ukrainian products to the US market," the statement said.
"And with representatives of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, we agreed to start the accreditation of Ukraine for the export of beef and cattle, hatching eggs and day-old chicks, pork and pork products to the EU."
The EU will provide a scientific report on African swine fever vaccination approaches, which Ukraine will share with its agribusiness sector.
Ukraine aims to open at least 15 new markets for its agri-food products by the end of 2025, having already accessed over 350 export markets.
