Ukraine and Russia set to exchange 180 prisoners, UAE to mediate deal — Bloomberg

The exchange is scheduled for the morning of July 17. Should the agreement proceed as planned, each side will release 90 prisoners.

This will mark the sixth prisoner exchange mediated by the Gulf state, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged this year to nearly 1,400, Bloomberg said.

The UAE played a crucial role in facilitating this exchange, as well as the previous one on June 25, Lubinets added.

90 defenders returned from Russian captivity on June 25, the National Guard, Navy, Army, Territorial Defense Forces, and border guards, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that day.

Ukraine also returned 10 people from Russian captivity on June 28 -  political prisoners, unlawfully detained before the full-scale invasion, including Nariman Dzhelyal, the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Deputy Chairman - were among them.
