Ukraine brought 10 service members back from Russian captivity on Aug. 24 as part of a special phase of a prisoner exchange, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“Today, as part of a special phase of the exchange, we are bringing back 10 of our warriors — via Belarus. Service members of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine. They defended the country in the Donetsk sector. All of them were listed as missing in action. And it is very important that we managed to bring them back,” Zelenskyy said on Telegram.

The Ukrainian president posted photos of the freed prisoners and thanked those working to bring Ukrainians back from Russian captivity.

“We remember every man and woman who remains in captivity. We are searching for every person by name. And we will do everything to free them and bring them home,” Zelenskyy said.

The previous prisoner exchange took place on Aug. 19. Ukraine then brought 103 service members of the Armed Forces, State Border Guard Service and National Guard back from Russian captivity. They had defended the country in various sectors of the front.
