According to him, Ukraine and China have held meetings in the past. For instance, a year ago, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met with his Chinese counterpart.
"We would be pleased to hold another such meeting this year, but confirmation of whether it will or will not happen will come later," Tykhyi said.
“I can only note that we are ready and would like to hold such a meeting during the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly.”
On Sept. 3, an investigation by The Telegraph reported that Chinese companies directly supplied Russian sanctioned firms with drone components and materials worth at least 47 million pounds sterling ($63 million) from 2023 to 2024.
On April 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press conference that Ukraine’s SBU Security Service and intelligence obtained information that China is supplying Russia with gunpowder and artillery and is engaged in producing some weapons on Russian soil.
China’s Foreign Ministry called such claims "baseless."
On July 7, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence reported that the share of Chinese-made electronic components in Shahed drones, which Russia uses to attack Ukraine daily, has risen to 60-65%.
On July 8, Zelenskyy signed a decree imposing sanctions on five Chinese companies registered in China that supply Russia with drone components.
