Ukrainian Air Forces struck a command center. Thirteen strikes were conducted on personnel concentration areas and three Russian air defense systems within the past 24 hours.
Rocket forces and artillery units struck two command centers, two personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentration areas, five artillery systems in firing positions, an air defense system, an ammunition depot, and an enemy electronic warfare station were targeted by Ukrainian missile and artillery units over the past 24 hours.
There were 35 combat engagements over the past 24 hours.
Siversky and Slobozhansky fronts – Russia carried out aviation strikes in Sumy Oblast in the villages of Bobilivka and Volfinyi. Mortar and artillery shelling was reported in over 25 settlements, including Khrynivka, Turiya, Bleshnya, Yanzhulivka, Mykolayivka, and Hayske in northern Chernihiv Oblast; as well as Ob'jednane, Khodyne, Ugroyidy, Novodmytrivka, and Popivka in Sumy Oblast; and Chervona Zoria, Strylecha, Hatyshche, Mala Vovcha, and Topoli, in Kharkiv Oblast.
Kupyansk front – unsuccessful offensive actions were carried out by Russian troops in the Novoyehorivka area of Luhansk Oblast. Aviation strikes were conducted in the Orlanske region of Kharkiv Oblast, and Nadia and Tverdokhlibovo regions of Luhansk Oblast. Enemy artillery and mortar shelling targeted the settlements of Dvorychna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast.
Lyman front – Russian aviation strikes in the areas of Spirne, Rozdolivka, and Vesele in Donetsk Oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling reported in the settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast.
Bakhmut front – Russian aviation strikes in the areas of Ivanivka, Klyshchiivka, and Bila Hora in Donetsk Oblast. Artillery shelling reported in more than ten settlements of Donetsk Oblast including Vasukivka, Minkivka, Markove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, and Klyshchiivka.
Avdiivka front – unsuccessful enemy offensive actions conducted south of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast with artillery shelling reported in Keramik, Berdychiv, Vodyane, Karlivka, Netaylove, Nevelske, as well as other settlements in this area.
Mariupol front – Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold off Russian troop advancements in areas northeast of Novomykhailivka and Marinka in Donetsk Oblast. The enemy aviation strikes were carried out in the Krasnohorivka area along with artillery shelling of Zhelanne Pershe, Oleksandriivka, Pobeda, Katerinivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Illinka settlements in Donetsk Oblast.
Shakhtarsk front – the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Blahodatne and Staromykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast. Also, artillery shelling was reported in more than 10 settlements of the oblast, including Maksymivka, Shakhtarske, Velyka Novosilka, Urozhaivne, Staromykhailivka, and Vilne Pole.
Zaporizhzhia front – aviation strikes reported in the areas of Levadne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyno, and Orikhova in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Also more than 20 settlements of the oblast suffered artillery shelling, including Levadne, Huliaypole, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Stepowe, and Plavne.
Kherson front – aviation strikes conducted by the enemy in the areas of Tyahinka and Naddniprianske in the southern Kherson Oblast. Artillery shelling reported in Lvove, Kherson, Komyshany, Bilozirka, Kizomys, and Posad-Pokrovske, as well as in several other settlement of the region.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi told U.S. officials that Ukrainian forces are on the verge of a breakthrough in their southern counteroffensive, according to an Aug. 24 Wall Street Journal report. Zaluzhnyi said that Ukrainian forces "continue to create conditions for moving forward step-by-step."
The Ukrainian military’s General Staff confirmed success in the area of Robotyne, stating that Ukrainian troops are solidifying their positions in the newly liberated territory. They are also continuing to advance towards Melitopol.
Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported the liberation of the village of Urozhayne in Donetsk Oblast on Aug. 16. Defense Forces reclaimed nine settlements in southern and eastern Ukraine in June. Additionally, Ukraine liberated the nearby village of Staromayorske in July.
Earlier, The New York Times reported a new phase of Ukraine’s counteroffensive, focusing on the southeastern front, where Ukrainian forces are making gradual progress through minefields and facing attacks from Russian aviation.
