The report states that this device is the latest attempt by Russian forces to find an effective way to counter Ukrainian drones.
The KOP-2 scans radio frequencies across a wide range, identifies the frequency on which a drone operates, and attempts to jam it with a powerful signal. The occupiers use this technology to protect strategically important sites, including air defense systems.
However, in real combat conditions, the KOP-2 proved powerless against the precision of Ukrainian operators.
The first strike disabled the system, and a subsequent strike completely destroyed it.
In June, the Drone Forces guided an AASM Hammer precision airstrike on a Russian ammunition depot in the southern direction.
The strike was carried out during unloading. After coordinates were relayed, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted a targeted airstrike.
On June 3, the Drone Forces appointed a new commander, Major Robert Madyar Brovdi.
Previously, Vadym Sukharevskyi had led the Drone Forces since their creation in 2024.
