Ukrainian Special Operations Forces used strike drones to destroy Russia’s modern remote mining system Zemledeliye, the military reported, sharing footage of the rare system’s destruction on its official Telegram channel on July 10.

Operators from Ukraine’s 8th Special Operations Forces Regiment discovered a Russian remote mining system during a special reconnaissance mission in one of the operational areas, the Ukrainian military reported.

“After quick preparation, the soldiers launched strike drones and accurately hit the target,” read the caption accompanying video footage released by the Armed Forces.

According to Ukrainian forces, the Russian system is designed to create minefields at a range of 5 to 15 kilometers.

“It fires rockets that deploy mines over a designated area. The system can lay minefields of any complexity, including with pre-planned passages for its own troops,” Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) said.
