The publication noted that the drone’s design is entirely Ukrainian, although it was developed using Western documentation and tools. Produced by DeepStrikeTech, the Batiar has a flight range of more than 800 kilometers and can carry an 18-kilogram warhead.
The UAV can serve multiple roles—as a kamikaze drone, a decoy, or a bomber. It is launched by catapults, either on the ground or mounted on a truck.
“Initially, the Batiar was developed as a kamikaze drone for deep strikes, but over time its capabilities have expanded,” the publication said.
Although the drone’s shape resembles the Russia-Iran Shahed, the similarity is only visual, DeepStrikeTech insisted. Engineers calculated the aerodynamics of the aircraft from scratch, relying mainly on Western technical documentation, the report noted.
