Russian forces launched a massive overnight drone and
missile assault on Ukraine beginning at 8 p.m. on Oct. 11, using 118
Shahed-type attack UAVs, several decoy drones, and one Kh-31 guided
air-to-surface missile, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.
By 9 a.m. on Oct. 12, air defense units had shot down or
disabled 103 enemy Shahed drones and other unmanned decoy aircraft, the
military said. One missile and 15 drones struck 10 separate locations across
the country.
Donetsk Oblast Governor Vadym Filashkin said that Russian strikes targeted
energy infrastructure in the region, leaving Donetsk Oblast without
electricity.
Separately, the Russian military attacked the city of
Chuhuiv in Kharkiv Oblast using attack drones. One strike damaged an
educational facility and a residential building.
