Ukrainian diplomatic missions in 24 embassies across 20 countries have been granted access to the State Register of Civil Status, Foreign Ministry announced on July 15.

This will enable Ukrainian citizens in those countries to obtain a range of official documents previously available only upon an in-person request from within Ukrainian territory.

According to the ministry, the list includes birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates, as well as documents that certify legal name changes.

Ukrainian embassies in Austria, Algeria, Belgium, the UK, Armenia, Spain, Morocco, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, the UAE, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Finland, France, Croatia, and Sweden, as well as the consulates in Edinburgh, Bălți, Dubai, Nyíregyháza, and Brno, now have access to the register.

In total, 48 Ukrainian representations across 31 countries in Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and the Middle East have access to the database, the ministry specified.
