SBU reveals 52 Ukrainian soldiers collaborated with Russia since war began

Overall, Ukraine’s military counterintelligence, the SBU, has uncovered 207 Russian intelligence agents collecting information on the Defense Forces and military facilities, 52 of whom were active service members.

According to the SBU, 44 traitors have already been sentenced to 12 to 15 years in prison. Among them, a former commander of a Ukrainian Special Operations Forces unit received 15 years for passing operational plans to the occupiers behind enemy lines.

Since the beginning of 2025, the SBU has dismantled three enemy intelligence networks.

In Zaporizhzhya in August, authorities uncovered a group that included a mobilized man and a local UOC (MP) priest who guided precision bombs onto Ukrainian Defense Forces positions.

The SBU also reported the arrest of four FSB agents in Odesa Oblast who were coordinating Russian airstrikes on weapons, ammunition, and military supply depots.

In Lviv Oblast, a 38-year-old informant was detained for preparing coordinates for Russian strikes on airfields.

The SBU has also blocked 114 schemes for evading mobilization since the start of the full-scale war.

Earlier, SBU chief Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk said that in 2023, Vladimir Putin personally approved the “Diversionary Noise” plan, which involved sabotage and terrorist attacks across Ukraine. The SBU continues to actively neutralize these threats and expose enemy intelligence networks operating under the plan.
