Beginning Nov. 1, all training centers of Ukraine’s Armed
Forces will implement a 1.5-month basic military training program.
The decision was approved by the Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, the General Staff told NV on Nov. 5.
The pilot project for the 45-day training started in October at four key training centers, involving nearly 500 recruits. According to a General Staff source, the training showed positive results within two weeks, prompting Syrskyi to extend the program to all training centers starting Nov. 1.
Ukrainian troops training abroad will continue with a 30-day program for now but will switch to the 1.5-month program in January 2025.
The basic training program has been increased by 78 hours, according to our source. The expansion includes extended firearms training, tactical medicine, and other essential courses.
