“As far as I know, Finland has not established such restrictions, and Ukraine should have the right to use these weapons against military facilities also on the territory of Russia,” said the Finnish politician.
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Gäkkiänen noted that restrictions on the use of weapons were introduced mainly by countries that provided Ukraine with long-range weapons.
The weapons provided by Finland can be used by Ukraine on Russian territory, but their range is shorter than that of long-range missiles, clarified Mikko Savola, the deputy chairman of the Defense Committee.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius expressed irritation during a visit to Kyiv in November 2023, stating that Ukraine would not receive Taurus missiles from Germany.
Hesitation from German Chancellor Olaf Scholz may be the reason, as he previously expressed concern that Kyiv could attack Russian territory, as reported by the media.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated in an interview with Bild on Jan. 24 that Ukraine does not need Taurus missiles to attack Moscow.
