Analysts said the area is being fitted with a multilayered system of fortifications, including anti-tank "dragon's teeth," other engineering obstacles, and a network of bypass roads to increase unit mobility and speed redeployments if needed.
Officers delayed to the bordering areas are conducting inspections to check combat readiness, evaluating supply levels, unit strength, and the condition of fortifications, DeepState said. Local officials are also reviewing hospitals and evacuation systems for potential increases in demand.
"The main goal of these measures is to strengthen defense on the southwestern front and ensure the armed forces are ready for any development of events," DeepState said.
Ukraine’s Operational Command West released photos of fortifications along the Transnistria border.
"Although scenarios here may vary, our experience in
repelling Russian armed aggression on the northern and eastern fronts shows we
must be ready for all possible scenarios," the command said.
