Ukraine introduces basic military training for students and police employees

The Cabinet of Ministers established that basic military training will be provided to men (women are allowed too if they want to) who are enrolled in full-time or dual enrollment programs.

According to the amendments, basic training will be provided to:

• cadets of higher military educational institutions, military educational units of higher education institutions
• cadets of higher education institutions with specific training conditions that provide police training
• police officers during their initial professional training in educational institutions with specific conditions of education that provide police training

The organization and support of basic general military training of students and police officers is entrusted to the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Staff and other institutions that manage higher education institutions and police training ones.
