Zelenskyy urges collective action after Russian strike on Dnipro

“Joint action is needed,” Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post.

“Only through united and strong action can we defeat these terrorists. Russia must be held accountable for what it is doing.”

He added that each new attack proves the need for stronger pressure on Russia and far tougher sanctions against the Kremlin.

Dnipro authorities later confirmed that one person was killed in the attack, with 28 sustaining injuries. A 10-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl are among the wounded.

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov said the strike damaged a city hospital and a pediatric dental clinic.

Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne reported that a building at one of the city’s universities was also hit. The dean of the psychology department there said university staff and service personnel were inside at the time. About 50 windows were blown out, and one woman was cut by flying glass shards.

“We were in a meeting discussing the curriculum when we heard a loud whistle and then explosions—one, two, three,” the report quoted the dean.

“We ran into a small room between two walls. I thought it was the end. I even looked for my keys in case the building collapsed. I felt incredible anger. How can anyone do this?”
