Ukraine’s top gas producer increases output to nearly 14 billion cubic meters

Ukrgasvydobuvannya remains Ukraine’s largest gas production company and is 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukraine.

Over the past year, it commissioned 83 new wells, including 60 operational wells and 23 exploratory wells.

“In 2024, the company also expanded its inclined and directional drilling operations, enabling gas extraction from hard-to-reach areas," the company’s statement reads.

"60 these wells were drilled, compared to 51 in 2023 - the company drilled a total of 370,000 meters — a 14% increase from 2023, marking the highest drilling volume in recent years.”

Ukrgasvydobuvannya and Ukrnafta, both part of Naftogaz Group, had extracted more than 13.5 billion cubic meters of gas by November 2024.

On Dec. 3, Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksiy Chernyshov as the country’s Deputy Prime Minister for National Unity. Since November 2022, he had served as CEO of Naftogaz Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Naftogaz’s supervisory board named Roman Chumak as the acting CEO. Chumak previously served as a board member and the company’s CFO.
