Ukraine has already received 50,000 artillery shells from
the Czech-led procurement initiative, Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová said
on June 27, as reported by Ceske Noviny news agency.
By the end of the year, Prague plans to deliver up to 500,000 rounds to the Ukrainian military.
According to Černochová, Czechia partnered with Germany to supply the first 50,000 shells. This delivery is part of the first tranche of 180,000 shells financed by Berlin.
Previously, Czech PM Petr Fiala stated that “tens of thousands” of rounds would be delivered to Ukraine monthly. He confirmed that procurement of up to 500,000 shells has already been fully funded.
