Russian forces fired nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-300 surface-to-air missiles, and launched 165 Shahed and Geran-type attack drones at Ukraine overnight, the Air Force reported on Telegram on Jan. 5.
As of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had intercepted 137 enemy drones over the northern, central, and eastern regions of the country.
Ten sites across the country were hit by the missiles and 26 drones. Damage from downed drone debris was reported at nine other sites.
The air assault is ongoing, with several enemy drones still present in Ukrainian airspace.
Earlier in the day, local authorities reported that one person had been killed and three others had been injured in a Russian drone strike on a medical facility in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district.
