Ukrainian forces reportedly advanced into Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, but it is unclear whether they still hold those positions, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on March 19.

Recent geolocated photos indicate that Ukrainian forces advanced along the international border south and southwest of the Russian village of Demidovka and southwest of the village of Grafovka.

On March 18, Russian propaganda began circulating reports that the Ukrainian military had launched new offensives along the border with Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, a claim denied by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have successfully repelled Ukrainian attacks near Demidovka, Grafovka, and Prilesye, while Russian military bloggers reported that Ukrainian forces were holding positions in forest areas along the Sumy-Belgorod Oblast border.
