Ukraine’s Defense Forces intercepted 41 Russian strike drones and saw 20 decoy drones disappear from radar during a barrage of 74 unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Russia overnight, the Air Force press service reported on Telegram on April 2.

The drones—Shahed strike UAVs and various imitators—came from Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in occupied Crimea.

The attack was countered by fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.

As of 9 a.m., the Air Force confirmed 41 Shahed drones were shot down across northern, southern, and eastern parts of Ukraine, while 20 decoy drones were lost to radar without causing harm.

Affected oblasts included Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Odesa.

Kharkiv faced a massive drone assault, leaving eight people injured, including a 9-month-old baby, per earlier reports.

In Zaporizhzhya Oblast, a preliminary report indicated one person died after a drone struck a frontline municipality.
