Ukrainians who do not trust or doubt the EU (19%) and/or NATO (25%) still see the country’s future in these alliances, with a total of 90% and 84% supporting the EU and NATO membership respectively.
The KIIS conducted three surveys on Ukrainians' attitudes toward the EU and NATO - in May 2024 on whether Ukrainians want the country to join the EU and NATO, in September 2024 on whether they are ready to vote for membership, and in December 2024 on the level of trust in these institutions.
The results "allow us to speak of the absolute commitment of Ukrainians to European and Euro-Atlantic integration," the sociologists said, with a total of 68% of all respondents ready to go to the polls and vote in favor of EU and NATO accession, with 9% and 10% against, respectively.
The poll suggests that while both alliances are important to Ukrainians, NATO is considered a higher priority due to the urgent need for reliable security guarantees.
