Ukraine's Cabinet approves government action program and submits it to parliament

He said the program sets out the government’s operating principles, key goals and specific tasks.

“This is a clear list of what the government must accomplish. There is clear personal responsibility for each area. I thank the lawmakers who contributed to preparing and finalizing the document. We expect parliament to consider the program as soon as possible,” Koretskyi said.

The prime minister stressed that the program’s main goal is to endure and win the war for independence. He added that this is “a shared effort and shared responsibility for the result.”

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhii Koretskyi as the new prime minister, replacing Yulia Svyrydenko, and approved a new Cabinet, except for the foreign and defense ministers, whose nominations had not been submitted to parliament by the president.

On July 17, the government appointed Yevhenii Khmara as acting defense minister and Andrii Sybiha as acting foreign minister.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Cabinet’s main tasks would be to prepare the country for the coming winter, strengthen its defense capabilities and accelerate the implementation of agreements with international partners.
