Ukraine’s ongoing military operation in Russia’s Kursk Oblast does not contradict the U.S. escalation management policy, Pentagon
Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said at a press briefing on Aug. 8.
During the briefing, Singh stated that the United States has supported Ukraine from the outset in its defense against Russian aggression.
“They are taking measures to protect themselves from attacks originating from this region, which aligns with U.S. policy on where they can use our weapons,” Singh said.
She noted that while Washington does not support deep attacks into Russia, the current incursion into Kursk Oblast is considered "more of a crossfire."
