Ukraine's overnight drone strike damages several Russian warplanes, sources say / The New Voice of Ukraine

In an operation ran by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), a wave of kamikaze drones has hit several Russian military aircraft across two airfields, a national security source told NV on April 5.

According to the source, the attack on Yeysk airbase in Krasnodar Krai has taken at least two Su-25 CAS aircraft out of commission. Meanwhile, another set of Ukrainian drones damaged three Tu-95 bombers at the Engels airfield in Saratov Oblast.

Besides the damaged equipment, there were reportedly casualties among the flight crew and maintenance personnel at both airfields.

Yeysk serves as a base of operations for Russian tactical aviation regularly attacking Ukrainian positions near the frontline, while Engels hosts strategic bombers responsible for launching cruise missiles at cities across Ukraine.
