According to a Russian military blogger, Ukrainian drone operators “strike most or all Russian armored vehicles three to six kilometers from the frontline” in those sectors where at least two Ukrainian first-person view (FPV) strike drone companies and two Ukrainian reconnaissance drone companies were deployed.
The enemy is also unable to field tanks due to the superiority of Ukrainian drones and the accuracy of Ukrainian artillery strikes in those frontline areas where Ukrainian forces have a sufficient numbers of shells.
This ability of Ukraine to damage and destroy Russian armored vehicles and tanks, as well as low production rates, will likely strain Russia's ability to compensate for these losses in the long run.
This follows an earlier ISW report on Jan. 4 that Russian forces used fewer armored vehicles in attacks on active front lines last October and November, likely to conserve equipment as Soviet-era stocks are depleted and losses mount.
