Ukraine’s intelligence chief Budanov has survived nearly a dozen assassination attempts

"We know that a certain number of assassination attempts on the military and political leadership of Ukraine were carried out and prepared,” he said.

“The main targets are the Ukrainian President, the chiefs of Ukrainian special services, as well as General Budanov, who has survived 10 serious assassination attempts."

"I like it,” Budanov himself admitted, commenting on being a top-target in an interview with Dmytro Komarov in February 2023.

“It is a measure of recognition, first of all, as it shows that I am fundamentally doing my job correctly."
