Ukrainian strikes wipe out 6,000 of Russian FPV drones, General Staff says

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian forces overnight hit a command post of a Russian airborne unit near the city of Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

Ukrainian troops also struck a Russian ammunition depot near the temporarily occupied settlement of Novooleksiivka in Kherson Oblast.

As a result of earlier strikes, the General Staff confirmed the destruction of three containers holding FPV drones and components at a UAV storage facility near the city of Rostov-on-Don in Russia’s Rostov Oblast.

The General Staff said about 6,000 FPV drones were destroyed, with several additional containers holding unmanned aerial vehicles damaged. Losses suffered by Russian occupying forces and the scale of the damage are still being verified, the General Staff added.

On Feb. 8, the General Staff confirmed damage at the Kapustin Yar missile test range in Russia’s Astrakhan Oblast, from which Russian forces had previously launched Oreshnik missiles at Ukraine.

On Feb. 7, the General Staff said units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck an oil depot in Balashov, in Russia’s Saratov Oblast, and an enemy drone command post in a temporarily occupied area of Zaporizhzhya Oblast.
