Ukraine signed a contract to receive 12 Caesar self-propelled artillery systems from the Franco-German defense group KNDS on the sidelines of the DFNC2 International Defense Industries Forum in Kyiv, French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu reported on X on Oct. 4.
“The increase in the production capacity of our defense industry allows us to support Ukraine,” he wrote.
This follows an earlier announcement by KNDS on Oct. 1 that it had established a subsidiary in Ukraine, aiming to support collaboration between Kyiv, Paris and Berlin, and facilitate effective maintenance, repair, and upgrades of Western weapon systems.
These systems include Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 main battle tanks, CAESAR and PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzers, and AMX 10RC armored vehicles.
