Ukrainian forces carried out an airstrike on a Russian drone launch site in central Pokrovsk, disrupting enemy unmanned aerial operations, Ukraine's 7th Rapid Response Corps said on June 6.

According to the military, Russian forces continue to concentrate personnel and equipment in Pokrovsk to support further offensive operations in the area of responsibility of the corps.

The military said one of the occupiers' key objectives is to expand a network of drone launch sites within the city, using residential areas for that purpose. Launch and control positions are reportedly being set up in basements, concrete shelters and entrances of apartment buildings.

The corps noted that Ukrainian aircraft recently struck a target in central Pokrovsk where, according to available information, Russian forces had established a launch site for Molniya attack drones and used it for aerial reconnaissance.

"The destruction of the facility disrupted the operation of enemy drone units in the area and reduced the enemy's ability to conduct reconnaissance and launch strikes," the military said.

On May 4, the 1st Separate Center of the Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces said it had established fire control over Donetsk Airport, describing it as the first operation of its kind in modern history.

The same day, Ukraine's 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade said pilots from its Spalakh drone unit had established fire control over the temporarily occupied city of Horlivka in Donetsk Oblast.

In April, the Azov 1st National Guard Corps said its strike drone operators were controlling Russian logistics routes near occupied Donetsk. Ukrainian drones were reported to be actively operating in Zuhres, Andriivka, Starobesheve, Horlivka, Lysychansk and along the Donetsk Ring Road.
