Ukraine's Defense Forces also struck a Russian radar station in Kartushyn, Bryansk Oblast. A Russian electronic warfare system was targeted near Pogar.
In Sokolohirsk, Luhansk Oblast, Ukrainian forces struck a repair base used by a Russian unit. The extent of the damage is being assessed, the General Staff said.
On Sept. 4, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported strikes on a Russian radar station in Bryansk Oblast and a mesh network relay in Russia's Kursk Oblast.
Russian forces have been actively using mesh networks since fall 2025 to control Shahed and reconnaissance drones launched against Ukraine. According to Militarnyi, mesh networks allow Russian drones to quickly change routes during large-scale attacks to evade Ukrainian air defenses.
Former Defense Ministry adviser Serhii Beskrestnov, known by the call sign Flash, described mesh networks as one of Ukraine's biggest challenges following the blocking of Starlink terminals used by Russian forces.
