The Ukrainian government has terminated the intergovernmental
air service agreement with Iran, Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet’s permanent parliamentary
secretary, announced on Nov. 8.
This agreement had been in effect since July 9, 1993.
“The Agreement on Air Services between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed in Tehran on July 9, 1993, has been terminated,” stated Melnychuk.
On Sept. 9, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry summoned Shahriar Amouzegar, the chargé d'affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine, following reports that Iran might supply ballistic missiles to Russia.
