Ukraine to launch app tracking Russian drones and missiles

The initiative comes as the government shifts its approach to air threat alerts by introducing a new two-tier warning system. Under the updated framework, authorities will issue a "yellow" alert during drone attacks and elevate the warning to a "red" alert in the event of missile threats, ballistic weapons, or large-scale strikes.

Officials attribute the policy shift to evolving Russian tactics, specifically the deployment of long-range drones for continuous, round-the-clock attacks. These day-long operations frequently paralyze cities by triggering prolonged alerts that halt public transit, close businesses, and disrupt routine city services.
